We Are Learning To Draw A Self-Portrait

Self Portraits

This term Room 9/27 have been learning to sketch a picture of our face.

We practised in our sketch books first and it was a very long process.

First we had to get the shape and size of our head right.  Then we had to work on our features like our eyes, nose, ears and mouth and other details that made us who we are.  Then we added in our hair and neck and shoulders.  It was hard work but we are very proud of our finished pictures which we coloured in using pastels.

I like to read about Unicorns.

Sometimes it is tricky to read all the words but I can try and sound them out.

I can ask my mum to help me read my books at home.

Sometimes it is tricky when I get stuck on a word. 

When I get stuck I can ask my friend to help me.

Welcome to my Year 2 Learning Blog.  This year I am in Room 9 and my teacher is Mrs Koroa.

Adding onto five.

I am learning to keep 5 in my head and add on.  This game is called Murtle Turtle and it reminds me to count on from a number.
